A NEW ROUTE TO THE SOUTH POLE

„Peace of the Heart“

In November 2022, we finally departed from Punta Arenas (Chile) for Antarctica – together with our friend Stefan Prucker (AUT) and polar legend, guide, and FRAM2 astronaut Eric Philips (AUS), who we could excite to join our project. After two years of delay, the day we had long waited for had finally come. After two nights at Union Glacier Camp (West Antarctica), we flew to our starting point, Our plan was to spend a longer time in Antarctica and open up a new route to the South Pole.

Our spirit of discovery — the desire to explore untouched land and to experience the solitude and immensity of Antarctica — inspired us to undertake this 880 km route. For 50 days, we were entirely alone – “unsupported“, facing unknown terrain, injuries, and harsh weather, but also the joy of discovery, the silence of Antarctica, the beauty of pristine nature, and the eternal divine presence of humankind.

Making Worldwide Polar History

On 11 January 2023, we stood at the South Pole, making polar history. We christened our new route with the name PEACE OF THE HEART (officially: Filchner Ice Shelf – Support Force Glacier – South Pole). It was recognized by the Guinness Book® of World Records for Alexandra’s performance and is now featured in the world’s oldest ski museum, Holmenkollen (Oslo, NOR), alongside other historic expeditions.
This expedition changed us forever – and this inspired us to embark on a new expedition:
